The Position
The
Merchandise Operations Analyst supports key areas within the Store Forecasting, Replenishment, & Allocation group in utilization of technology and analytics designed to optimize best practices. The MOA role works to support the Senior Merchandise Operations Analyst in creating more accurate forecasting and ordering principles across a diverse group of categories and internal groups through advanced analytics. The MOA utilizes advanced dashboards to make informed strategic decisions on product flow. Leads conversations with buyers, to drive optimal & efficient inventory levels in stores.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports project management principles to drive efficient, and scalable analytical solutions to deliver corporate objectives in Store Inventory Management, Forecasting, and Replenishment.
- Utilizes analytical solutions: Power BI, Advanced Excel modeling, and SQL to drive dashboard reporting, and transparency across the business to improve efficiency.
- Supports database & big data integrity for Store Inventory, Forecasting, & Replenishment.
- Work with core teams and business users to understand business centric problems, and design analytical solutions to address and solve complex issues.
- Manage predictive and regression analytics for store forecasting solutions.
- Govern ad-hoc and repeatable reporting and dashboards for the Store Inventory group.
- Supports the SMOA on the relationship between IT and the business related to Store Inventory Management.
Skills and Requirements
- Advanced Excel: including modeling & statistical analysis
- Advanced Power BI knowledge / experience
- Advanced SQL modeling
- Prior experience creating dashboard reporting and analytical tools to drive best practices, efficiency, and simplify roles across a diverse group of support teams.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
