The Position
The
Sr. Financial Analyst will provide financial analysis support for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. In this role, you will support senior leaders in various operating groups and be responsible for financial modeling, budgeting/forecasting, and developing internal management reports. You will support and lead the Company’s key ongoing strategic and operational initiatives and participate in Strategic Planning as it relates to product profitability, long-term planning and store growth. Duties and Responsibilities
- Accountable for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Develop financial budgets and forecasts of sales, store labor and other operating expenses and perform budget/forecast vs. actual analyses.
- Manage, monitor and analyze operational data to identify and analyze financial trends, operating issues and opportunities, and provide financial support/feedback to senior management and store operators.
- Create reporting packages and work with senior management to define and track key performance metrics.
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and help review critical financial decisions
Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. MBA preferred
- 4 year bachelors in finance, accounting, business or other relevant area of study, and/or equivalent qualifying work experience.
- MBA and/or CPA preferred but not required.
- 4+ years financial analysis experience in Fortune 500 or high growth firm; 2-3 years operational experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical and modeling skills, in-depth experience with financial statement analysis and a strong understanding of finance concepts such as product profitability, P&L management, capital expenditures, and inventory.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and good working knowledge of PowerPoint.
- Experience in sales, merchandise, labor planning, and/or retail finance a definite plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on business issues
Must be able to think through and analyze problems with keen ability to summarize and articulate results.
