The Position
The Regional Asset Protection Manager will manage and coordinate all asset protection functions within the assigned regional area to achieve maximum effectiveness in inventory shortage control and protection of company assets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilizing a proactive and preventative approach, the Regional Asset Protection Manager will provide partnership, leadership and direction for 99¢ Only Stores operations associates in all areas of asset protection, safety and compliance
- Implement and audit asset protection policies, strategies, including scrap and shrink programs to increase profitability and reduce incidents that erode profits within stores
- Ensure compliance with the use of all Asset Protection tools, technology & programs including CCTV, POS Exception Reporting, LP Software, and alarm pass codes, safe combinations, security passwords, and other security control changes when necessary or as directed
- Be a recognized subject matter expert in the area of safety and security incident response
- Provide exceptional responsiveness to safety and security incidents in your region
- Apply excellent problem-solving skills to effectively evaluate losses, investigate losses (theft or operational), assess the response to the results of an investigation, and recommend revisions to the loss prevention program.
- Determine the effectiveness of asset protection policy and procedure through compliance auditing
- Be responsible for all shortage control lines to include shrink, inventory scrap, cash handling, nondescript losses, etc.
- Establish support for advancing identified theft cases into a focused investigation to abate and recover losses
- Assist in the development of asset protection programs
- Provide continuous review of informational resources to uncover losses through procedural auditing
- Coordinate special audits, tests and inspections as directed
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or equivalent experience/education preferred
- 3+ of Security/Investigation experience (or related experience)
- Retail/Grocery experience strongly preferred
- Certified Protection Professional or working toward designation (preferred)
- Experience in the management of loss prevention programs
- Excellent logical, analytical reasoning, and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational, motivational and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs
- Ability to travel moderately
- Ability to travel by automobile and/or aircraft, as needed.
- Ability and willingness to work with other departments and the public, furnishing and
- Effective verbal and written communication (bilingual – Spanish/English a plus)
