Assistant Buyer -General Merchandise

SUMMARY/ PURPOSE
The Assistant Buyer will support a specific buying division with administrative and clerical work related to the buying function.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicate verbally and electronically with vendors.
Create Purchase Orders and perform data entry.
Setup and maintain SKU’s.
Setup vendors and handle associated communications.
Support buyers with their tasks and functions.
Abide to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.
Ensure compliance with internal controls as applicable to your function within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education Required: Associate Degree

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

A.A. degree preferred
1-2 years of experience in merchandising
Knowledge of retail math
Ability to multi-task
Customer service, retail or manufacturing experience
