SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
The Compliance Assistant will be responsible for supporting the safe and continuous operation of 99 Cents Only Stores assets by assisting with the enforcement of health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards and regulations. The Compliance Assistant will assist with the development, implementation and execution of compliance programs and materials and participating in regular meetings to promote a safe environment for associates and customers. This position supports all 99 Cents Only Store locations.
The Compliance Assistant will be a point of contact for field teams as well as external regulators, consultants and contractors. The Compliance Assistant will interface with regulatory agencies to develop and maintain contacts and relationships with the various agencies and resolve any concerns during regulatory inspections.
The Compliance Assistant will manage vendor partnerships, being the direct point of contact for service providers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with developing and maintaining company compliance programs and SOP’s to assure company is compliant with local, state and federal regulations.
- Assist with coordinating and managing vendor partnerships.
- Assist with coordinating and conducting internal audits to evaluate and maintain compliance with established laws, regulations, and policies.
- Support department in maintaining state and federal agency relationships
- Assist with coordinating communications with field management (SM, DM, and RD).
- Coordinate and schedule services as needed (External Vendors/Consultants)
- Update/Maintain store documentation and state reporting requirements
- Use internal and web-based systems alongside MS Office suite for reporting/tracking.
- Abide to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls as applicable to your function within the organization.
- Additional tasks/duties may be assigned as appropriate.
