The Position
The
Junior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining correct general ledger balances for assigned accounts, preparing general journal entries, preparing month-end closing entries, and preparing related account reconciliations to management for assigned accounts as required. Not limited to other assignments or special projects as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain correct general ledger balances for assigned accounts
- Prepare general journal entries.
- Prepare month-end closing entries
- Prepare related account reconciliations
- Apply daily customer payments and close out batches for BW
- Provide activity analysis for various P&L and BS accounts
- Liaison between external/internal auditors and company
- Other special projects and assignments as required.
Skills and Requirements
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Ability to be proactive; a self-starter
- Analytical and problem solving abilities and attention to detail
- Above average written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
- AA Degree in Accounting or Finance, or 2+ years of classes towards BA/BS degree
- 2+ years’ experience in general accounting
