The Position
99 Cents Only Stores is searching for a
Communications Assistant who will assist the Sr. Communications Manager with the day to day store communications by drafting simple, easy to execute instructions for all operational related areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather information and draft Store Management Update (weekly) and Front End Update (bi-weekly).
- Assist with daily communication requests including merchandising related messages.
- Draft operational communications related to the season for review (i.e. scheduling guidelines, merchandise surveys, intercom announcements, etc.)
- Provide support by drafting templates for operational related communications (such as policies, procedures and system enhancements).
- Identify documents impacted as a result of a procedural change and prepare updates for review.
- Maintain list of approved items for display in featured areas (checkouts, sidewinders, floor displays, etc.)
- Assist with intranet maintenance and updates to ensure it is kept current.
- Draft signs for review (new products, price changes, operational messages).
- Assist Sr. Communications Specialist with the administration of execution management system access, attributes, projects and template updates.
- Set up recurring tasks and reminders in SAM and on 99 Central.
- Provide assistance on store support related calls and emails (Questions, How to).
- Assist department with other projects and store calls as necessary.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 2+ yrs work experience in a corporate environment
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Able to manage multiple projects / priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience with documenting, revising, distributing and archiving policies and procedures.
- Self-starter with the ability to motivate others who do not have a direct reporting relationship.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Works in a team environment and is expected to assist other team members as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, Adobe Photoshop, In Design.
- Retail experience is a plus.
