The Position
The Manager of Allocation is responsible for inventory management and manages the entire inventory life cycle to ensure inventories are at the maximized level of efficiency. The candidate leads the assigned allocation team to ensure merchandise is delivered according to market demands with the best profits. The candidate should have strong analytical, communication and leadership skills, capable to influence others, remain curious and is experienced in building / refining processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead with consumer demands, ensure smooth stock flows, evaluate and define in-stock goals
- Allocation functional lead including management and development of merchandise analysts process and system improvement (e.g. Relex)
- Analyze sales and inventory at store level to identify risks and opportunities; make recommendations for rebalancing to maximize sales and margin.
- Manage receipts with allocation and planning teams
- Develop allocation strategies to improve sales, in-stock and profitability
- Provide weekly reporting and ad hoc analysis to the Planning and Allocations team and cross functional departments (e.g. in-season sales, receipts, inventory, and flow projections)
- Train and develop allocators on processes and systems, as well as leadership opportunities and team building
- Lead weekly cross functional meeting, including review of store reporting, inventory dates, flow projections, allocation issues, and chain inventory position
- Serve in a Supervisory role for allocators providing leadership, direction and coaching as needed
- Works independently, ability to work with ambiguity, curious, proactive, self-starter
- Must be a team orientated
