Bilingual Employee Relations Business Partner

SUMMARY
The Employee Relations Business Partner will provide specialized and professional consultation and training on ER issues and employee disciplinary issues to managers, employees, and human resources professionals. Investigates serious complaints, potential compliance violations and advises on opportunities for remediation/prevention of violence issues that impact moral productivity and organizational performance.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle employee complaints effectively, escalating these complaints to the level of disciplinary or legal action when necessary, updating employees with any changes in company policy, advising supervisors on treatment of staff and company policies, responds to employee violations of policy and generally helps to resolve conflict in the workplace
- Conduct investigations of associate complaints, including the problem resolution process. Act as a neutral intermediary. This may include coaching associates (management and non-management) on how to handle a situation without HR intervention. Prepare investigative reports, PRP and Hotline responses
- Manages and provides early intervention and support for the resolution of a variety of complex associate relations issues, including complaints of sexual harassment and discrimination; Takes pro-active steps to address situations or initiatives that may be perceived negatively by the associates, working with Store Managers and District Managers to enhance their abilities to recognize widespread situations and respond appropriately.
- Support management with employment law compliance, including ADA issues, leaves of absence, and EEO. Document ADA interactive process.
- Works with employment law team to respond to EEOC, DOL and other legal claims. Represents the company in mediations, depositions and other legal processes.
- May conduct focus groups or reach out to other HR business professionals to assist in the resolution of escalated Employee Relations issues.
- Abide to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls as applicable to your function within the organization
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA Degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
- 5 – 7 years’ experience in ER investigation or HR Manager/Generalist
- Bilingual-Spanish and is a plus
- PHR/SPHR certification a plus
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations, and requirements related to HR including ERISA, EEO, LOAs, ADA, Worker’s Comp, COBRA, Wage and Hour and others
- Good judgement and problem-solving skills
