The
Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining correct general ledger balances for assigned accounts, preparing general journal entries, preparing month-end closing entries, preparing related account reconciliations, providing activity analysis to management for assigned accounts and preparing required financial statement support to management, government agencies and auditors. In addition, the Senior Accountant will review work performed by our business process outsource (BPO) service provider and team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain correct general ledger balances for assigned accounts
- Supervise work performed by BPO service provider
- Review or prepare general ledger journal entries.
- Review or prepare month-end closing entries
- Review or prepare related account reconciliations
- Provide activity analysis to management for assigned accounts
- Review or prepare required financial statement support to management, government agencies and various auditors
- Responsible for continuous improvements through recommending and implementing efficient and effective processes
- Assist in ad hoc projects as necessary, including the implementation of ASC842 lease standards
- Other special projects and assignments as required
- Abide to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy
- Ensure compliance with internal controls as applicable to your function within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in general accounting, public accounting or financial reporting
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience working with SAP ERP preferred, but not required
- Ability to be proactive; a self-starter
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize as needed
- Above average written and verbal communication skills
- Highly proficient knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
