SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
The Regional Vice President of Store Operations oversees the operations within a region that are under the direct supervision of Regional Directors or Market Directors. Responsible for the operation of multiple store locations; which includes HR, Operations, Merchandising, Team Development, and Customer Service. The role is a key part of the company leadership team and works cross-functionally with all aspects of the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team, strategic and tactical plans for the operation of field locations and districts.
- Provides day to day leadership, monitors, evaluates and provides direction to assigned region’s Store Operations teams that is aligned with the mission and the core values of the Company to ensure achievement of company objectives.
- Serves as an advocate for the customer ensuring store operation efforts fit with customer needs and wants as well as business goals / objectives.
- Develops and communicates overall operational plan for the Region and actively communicates business priorities.
- Ensures consistent execution of business strategies and company initiatives and achievement of sales and profitability goals.
- Develops new initiatives and programs in conjunction with General Office Store Operations team for regional or company implementation.
- Provides effective and continuous communication with the region on store/division sales results, expenses, manpower planning, and customer service minimum requirements.
- Implements defined performance standards for the Regional Store Operations team and ensures fair, consistent and timely feedback to Team Members on their performance.
- Manages direct reports including staffing, training, development, performance assessment, disciplinary actions and succession planning.
- Develops and implements plans to build highly productive teams, with a focus on internal leadership development to ensure attraction and retention of high potential team members and building bench strength resulting in successful succession planning.
- Regularly evaluates, coaches, and develops field teams to ensure delivery of store presentation and service standards.
- Develop and implement performance measurement indicators for each store location and support function to constantly improve the efficiency and productivity of operations Team.
- Visit stores and evaluate the operation, presentation, organization and ensure high standards of service.
- Ensures complete and timely communication of company objectives, policies, and initiatives throughout the region.
- Teaches, leads and coaches RD/MD’s to increase their effectiveness, efficiency and productivity through continually improving: time management, coaching, and communications skills, leadership development, sales analysis, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal relations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: ** Bachelors Degree
- 10+ years experience in leadership roles with progressive responsibilities and track record of success in Growing store sales and Merchandizing with proven abilities in the following areas:
- Experience in leading management teams to produce and motivate.
- Experience in a senior leadership role with multi-store oversight and management of others who have multi-store field responsibility.
- Financial and retail management skills, including the ability to interpret operating statements, reporting data, manage budgets, manage inventory, maintain expense control and manage merchandise effectively required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work across the organization, lead cross-functional teams, and influence without direct authority. Ability to function positively as a team leader as well as a team member required.
- Ability to build, lead, influence and motivate large diverse teams, as well as highlight, develop and retain top performers required.
- Strong conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Strong presentation skills required.
- Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities. Well-organized, detail oriented, with the ability to delegate and follow-up effectively.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis and for extended periods of time, including regular and continuous overnight travel required. Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate travel as required.
