Manager, Inventory Accounting Analysis

SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Manager, Inventory Accounting will be responsible for the day to day operations of the TCS Inventory Compliance team, perform annual shrink and scrap budget, weekly shrink and scrap forecast, monthly shrink and scrap board slides, identify and execute process efficiencies and other inventory accounting reporting and analysis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Accounting
•Manage TCS Inventory Compliance Team; track volume and measure resolution, inventory compliance inquiries and resolution, DSD/drop ship invoice analysis and document, identify and execute process improvements
•Manage DC to store shortages, review current process and work with DC Team to execute improvements
•Manage DSD and Drop ship receiving issues, review current process and make necessary process improvements to the new operations management
•Manage DSD and Drop ship invoices, review current process, identify and execute process improvements
•Inventory Accuracy - maintain accurate inventory data through interacting and coordinating with other departments
• Account Reconciliations - prepare and/or post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts related to inventory
- Inventory Movement/Loss - review and research to ensure the accuracy of all charges to inventory. Assists management with reducing inventory loss.
- Error/Issue Management - research and correct inconsistencies and/or errors when realized and work with the appropriate personnel to reduce or eliminate recurrence
- Review month end shrink entry
- Provide oversight and management of researched store variances by offshore team
Management and Communication
• Communication - lead the communication of information, processes and accountabilities
relative to inventory, shrink and scrap. Interact with multiple departments and individuals at all levels of the Company
• Develop Inventory Strategies - work closely with the Director of Inventory Accounting, Store Operations, IT, and Buying Team to provide successful inventory strategies that meet customer needs and support revenue growth
• Succession/Redundancy Planning - ensure and train staff with a basic understanding of the inventory manager role and can serve as interim manager if/when the need arises.
• Supervision of Inventory Staff - supervision of inventory accounting personnel and responsible for performance reviews with input from Department Director
• Special Projects - work on special projects as assigned
• Ensure compliance with internal controls as applicable to your function within the organization
• Abide to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy

Minimum
- 5-7 General Accounting
- Budgeting Forecasting Experience
- Retail Industry Experience
- Multi-Unit Experience
