SUMMARY/PURPOSE |
The Director of Strategic Planning and Financial Analysis will support senior leaders in various operating groups and be responsible for managing financial modeling, budgeting/forecasting, and developing internal management reports. This role will lead Strategic Planning as it relates to product profitability, long-term planning, store growth, and acquisitions. Financial Planning and Analysis for areas across company to include: Logistics, Distribution, Accounting, Merchandising, Inventory, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Store Operations, Asset Protection.

Strategic Planning
- Create and maintain long-term corporate forecast, capturing all ongoing and planned growth initiatives
- Conduct appropriate market and industry research to evaluate strategic plan in context of competitive actions and overall macroeconomic environment

FP&A
- Partner closely with other departments and perform detailed analytics and reporting to evaluate key performance indicators and business drivers, sample tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Recurring sales, merchandising, supply chain and labor metrics analytics
- Monthly Board of Director updates
- Analyze recent business trends on an ad-hoc basis, often in collaboration with other departments
- Play a leading role in annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasting processes, responsible for overall budget consolidation, including P&L, balance sheet, capital and cash flow
- Lead budgeting and planning for General & Administrative spend (G&A) and capital spend, including
- Headcount planning
- Capex planning & forecasting by project, including supporting appropriate ROI calculations

- Prepare quarterly earnings and public filings, including but not limited to, drafting and creating supporting documentation for SEC filings, earnings call / Q&A and materials for public earnings release
- Draft individual investor communications and presentations

Minimum Required Experience/ Skills/Knowledge: (Please List)
- 7+ years of experience in a rigorous, fast-paced financial analyst capacity
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with individuals in various functional areas and various levels of management.
- Detail orientation and multi-tasking abilities essential
- Must be able to think through and analyze problems and summarize results succinctly
Preferred Experience/ Skills/Knowledge: (Please List)
- 10+ years of experience in a rigorous, fast-paced financial analyst capacity
- Experience in the retail industry strongly preferred but not required
- MBA or equivalent advance degree strongly preferred, but not required
- 5+ years operational management experience preferred.
- Experience in supply chain management such as category management, merchandise planning, and/or distribution a definite plus.
